ER 309 / ER 309LSi Welding Wire
OVERVIEW OF ER 309/ ER 309LSi
ER 309 / ER 309LSi welding wire is an austenitic stainless steel filler metal specially formulated for welding dissimilar metals and stainless steel to carbon steel joints. With a higher chromium and nickel content than ER 308, this grade provides excellent oxidation resistance, crack resistance, and high-temperature strength.
The ER 309LSi variant features low carbon (L) and increased silicon (Si) levels, improving weld metal fluidity, minimizing carbide precipitation, and delivering a smoother, more uniform weld bead. These wires are commonly used in MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding applications.
