Ambica Steels Limited – Awarded for Steel Exports

Ambica Steels is recently honored for its Outstanding Contribution towards the promotion of Indo-German Economic Relations for the year 2018. The award was bestowed by the respectable President of Indo German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IGCC). IGCC is a trade development body which promotes economic relations between India and Germany and has almost 7000 members. It is the largest German bilateral chamber abroad within a network of 80 different countries.

Germany is the second largest importer of steel in the world after United States. The country imported almost 7 percent of total steel imports across the globe in 2017. The recent hike in Germany’s steel imports of steel products was observed at 27.6 million metric tons. Additionally, imports averaged as 25.2 million metric tons per annum between the year 2012 and 2017. In year-to-date 2018, the value of Germany’s steel imports has increased by 19 percent to $7.6 billion from $6.4 billion in previous year. In this scenario, Ambica Steels have played a vital role by administering major exports for our republic in financial year 2017-18. While the maximal articles of export remained as Round Bars, Flat Bars, Square Bars and Hexagon Bars, there was no article brought from Germany in this year. In comparison with previous year, Ambica Steels exported more than double the products to achieve its significant breakthrough of being the best exporter.

To achieve this Ambica Steels left no stone unturned and opted to participate in Germany based events from quiet some time. The long term research and steady visits to dealers and distributors for building mutual trust has improved the business opportunities for the company in Germany. It all started in 2006, when Ambica Steels did its first export to the country and since then there is no looking back. Apart from undertaking business activities to promote Indo-German Economic Relations the company has also opened its regional sales office in the region of Aachen in 2017. The said office is used to conduct extensive commercial activities and has two German members on board. Further, the company keeps participating in Wire & Tube event like the recent one that took place in Dusseldorf in 2018. Additionally, Ambica Steels has already confirmed its participation in Duplex World to be held in the month of November 2018 at Dusseldorf.

This is not the first time when Ambica Steels has reached the highest place in steel business. Earlier this year it became a member of Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India to accelerate its patronage. In past decade, thrice has it happened that EEPC has recognized Ambica Steels as ‘Star Performer’ as Large Enterprise in the category of Rolled, Drawn and Folded Products of Iron and Steel. The company urges to stand by the strong business ethics and thus received a Gold Membership Certificate in 2015 from Bureau of International Recycling (BIR), the world federation of recycling industries. Not to forget every company that joins BIR accept to abide by a Code of Conduct based on stringent organizational values. During the 28th Quality Circle Competition in 2015, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) honored MD of Ambica Steels Ltd for their active participation. Another membership certificate was given to company by Material Recycling Association of India (MRAI) as it is a member of the Material Recycling Association of India that stays valid till 2023. Ministry of Commerce & Industry also awarded Ambica Steels with Certificate of Recognition for being Star Export House in accordance with the provisions of Foreign Trade Policy.
